Medication Evaluation and Management

Dallas Whole Life Counseling is the number one provider for the metroplex's professional community. Unlike most local treatment facilities, which offer either medication evaluation/management OR psychotherapy, Dallas Whole Life Counseling offers both. Our psychiatric staff carefully coordinates its treatment with our widely diverse psychotherapy staff, allowing us to offer a uniquely convenient and holistic "one stop shop" for your total mental health care. A few of the wide range of issues we commonly treat:

Note: As a matter of policy, DWLC typically does not prescribe pain medications such as Hydrocodone or stimulant-based ADHD medications such as Ritalin.

Gopan Pillai, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Gopan Pillai, MSN, PMHNP-BCGopan Pillai is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in treating and prescribing medications for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder and other common mental health issues. Should I meet first with a psychiatrist/nurse practitioner or a therapist? If you are potentially interested in pursuing both therapy and medication treatment, you can initially meet with either a member of our psychiatric staff, or one of our counseling experts. (View therapy rates.) During your initial one hour meeting with a psychiatrist or therapist, you can discuss your intention to integrate medication with psychotherapy, and your care provider can help you form the best treatment plan for your financial resources, meeting availability and specific treatment issues. If you are uncertain about where to start, we suggest you first meet with one of our therapy specialists for an initial consultation.

Can I use my insurance?Although Dallas Whole Life has chosen to be an out-of-network provider, our specially trained admin staff is happy to file for your out-of-network benefits for all insurance providers. This means no complicated insurance paperwork for you to keep track of, and insures that you will receive the benefits you are entitled to through your individual plan. Please NOTE: When using out-of-network benefits, you are required to pay in full for your appointment at the time of service, as your carrier will reimburse you directly after processing the claim. Out-of-network benefits vary from plan to plan. For details, contact your insurance carrier and ask about "out-of-network" benefits for "outpatient mental health." Alternately, simply bring your insurance card with you to the first session, and we will look into your benefits.
