Steve Reedy, MA, LPC, RMT, NMT

Steve Reedy, MA, LPC, RMT, NMT | Dallas Whole Life CounselingSteve Reedy is a licensed professional counselor with a broad base of experience in various healing traditions. A senior therapist with Dallas Whole Life, Steve holds an M.A. in professional counseling from Argosy University and is also certified to practice mind/body work including neuromuscular therapy, Thai massage and reiki energy therapy. Steve’s years of experience as a counselor, coach and body worker have shaped his belief that an unhappy mind tends to lead to an unhappy body, and vice versa. When working with therapy clients, Steve believes it is important to treat the person as an integrated whole, rather than reducing him or her to a single clinical “problem.”

Steve believes that most individuals struggle to manage their lives in an unnaturally fast-paced world which offers a dizzying array of options--often emphasizing quantity over quality. In trying to juggle their many responsibilities, life goals and expectations, Steve feels individuals easily lose their balance, finding themselves stressed, depressed, physically uncomfortable or simply bored with the daily grind. In helping individuals rediscover their natural balance, Steve utilizes a variety of therapy strategies, including cognitive, person-centered and his own timeline therapy. Each of these therapy strategies helps the client to better recognize core beliefs about him or herself, many of which may have been formed (unintentionally) long ago.Dallas Whole Life Counseling Icon

With structured logic and heartfelt warmth, Steve encourages clients to re-evaluate their core beliefs and determine whether a given belief is helping or hindering the client’s personal, professional and spiritual pursuits.

Among Steve’s many areas of treatment specialty are depression, anxiety, couples and sexual issues, chronic pain and career coaching. Steve has studied a wide variety of belief systems from all around the world, and utilizes meditation and relaxation training when appropriate. Recognizing common deficiencies with many mainstream substance rehabilitation programs, he is currently working on a book about substance abuse and addiction. Whether he is working with individuals, families, couples or children, Steve emphasizes genuine personal connection and a non-judgmental approach to therapy.

Steve enjoys traveling, and has spent time in Thailand learning different methods of healing. Staying true to his belief in mind/body balance, Steve is active in yoga, bike riding and other means of physical fitness.
If you feel that you might be a good counseling or coaching match for Steve, please let our office manager know when you call to schedule, so that we can check Steve's availability.
