James Robbins - Licensed Therapist and Published Author

My name is James Robbins and I am a licensed psychotherapist, published author and co-owner of Dallas Whole Life Counseling which has been serving the Dallas-Fort Worth community since 1999.
I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me as you consider your options for finding the right help in the next stage of your life. For over 20 years, I have been helping people from all walks of life find their way home, rediscovering and living from within their natural, authentic selves.
It is hard to determine who the best person to bring into your life could be from a giant list of therapists online so I want to share a little bit more about me to help you in your search. In addition to providing counseling since 1999, I have lectured and offered workshops exploring various topics related to psychology and spirituality. I have been a featured expert in a variety of media sources and my non-fiction book, Build a Better Buddha, was published in 2003. I am proudly married to psychologist Dr. Heather Robbins. Prior to becoming a licensed therapist, I was a performing musician and music teacher in Austin, TX. I studied classical music at UT Austin, and founded two rock bands in the local music scene. I currently hold two graduate degrees: a M.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at Austin and a M.A. in Counseling from Amberton University.
I encourage you to take a peek at some of there services I offer, some of the testimonials my clients have openly shared, and view some of the written and recorded resources I have below. What My Clients Say
"Initially, I sought therapy to address a difficult situation at the time. However, my experience was so positive that I have continued on as a client. I would say that without a doubt the advice and council I have received has improved the quality of my life significantly. My fiance was not a believer in therapy and had never been to see a psychologist before. He found Jame's advice to be so impactful that he now has a regular appointment with him and looks forward to their conversations."
