Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders. Most patients are diagnosed as children, but the symptoms of ADHD can last into adulthood. Some adults with ADHD haven’t been properly diagnosed, so the symptoms can make it particularly difficult to have a career, as well as meaningful and healthy family and personal relationships.
Symptoms of ADHD
People with ADHD often have trouble paying attention and controlling impulsive behaviors. Some other symptoms include:

- difficulty concentrating at work or school;
- struggling to maintain focus on material you find uninteresting;
- losing interest in projects before they are complete;
- forgetting to pay bills;
- a messy or disorganized house or office;
- feedback from others that you talk too much, too loudly or too quickly;
- problems paying attention in conversation;
- feelings of restlessness or challenges staying still for long periods of time;
- difficulty staying “on the subject” in conversation;
- getting “lost” in enjoyable activities, to the point where you sometimes forget other responsibilities;
- feelings that your brain is working faster than you are able to express your ideas;
- creative inspiration that fades before you’ve completed the project;
- signing on to too many things at once;
- challenges controlling anger;
- tendency to lose things;
- feeling more engaged in loud, crowded or “high energy” environments; and
- procrastination
At Dallas Whole Life Counseling, we have experienced counselors, therapists and psychologists who treat ADHD. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is particularly effective in the treatment of ADHD.
If you are an adult and think you might be suffering from ADHD, use our self-evaluation tool to gauge your risk.
We are currently seeing new patients in Texas who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder or who think they may have ADHD. Make an Appointment online.
Online ADHD Counseling
Showing up consistently is often the hardest part of managing ADHD, and a weekly commute can be the difference between staying on track and falling off. That’s what online ADHD counseling is built to solve. Sessions are run by the same licensed counselors and psychologists who see clients in our Dallas office, using the same CBT-based methods for focus, organization, time management, and impulse control. Nothing about the treatment changes, only how you access it.
Clients working with an ADHD therapist online keep the same provider and the same plan, just without the drive. Evening and weekend sessions are available, and virtual ADHD therapy can be accessed from anywhere in Texas, which matters for clients who’ve relocated, travel for work, or simply can’t get to an office during business hours.

Getting started takes just a few minutes and we can often accommodate same-day / next-day appointments
Making an appointment is quick and easy. After you submit your request, our office staff will send you information on how to fill out new patient paperwork, gather necessary documentation, and confirm your appointment. If it’s currently normal business hours, we’re usually in touch within one to two hours. You can request to be seen ASAP for a same-day or next-day appointment. Appointment availability may be influenced and limited by factors like your insurance plan and if you’d like to see a specific counselor.
