Feb 12, 2013
Thursday is Valentine’s Day.
However you choose to celebrate, here are three tips to help you make the most of the holiday:
- Electronic gadgets—cell phones, laptops, tablets—are decidedly unwelcome. Turn them off—or better still, tuck them into a drawer until February 15th.
- No talk of work, money or household chores. Period. Few things smother romance as quickly as conversations about business, finances or mundane household matters. Even if you have good news in one of these areas, save it for another day.
- No talk of family. This includes your parents, your siblings, your kids. Although these people influence every aspect of your life, including your romantic relationship, this isn’t what initially drew you to your partner. Talk about music, movies, food, the meaning of life. Try to reconnect with the genuine essence of your partner, that initial spark that caught your attention before you knew much of anything about one another’s families.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
