Dr. Colleen R. Logan is a nationally recognized counselor educator, licensed professional counselor-supervisor, clinical leader, consultant, and advocate with more than 35 years of experience advancing the counseling profession through clinical practice, counselor education, leadership, and professional service. Throughout her career, she has remained deeply committed to preparing highly competent, ethical, and culturally responsive counselors while promoting equity, inclusion, and excellence across clinical and academic settings.
As a licensed professional counselor and clinical supervisor, Dr. Logan has worked extensively with individuals, couples, families, and marginalized communities, bringing a trauma-informed, affirmative, and strengths-based approach to counseling and supervision. Her clinical expertise spans a broad range of mental health concerns, with particular emphasis on identity development, relational wellness, leadership, resilience, and the mental health needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.
Dr. Logan has served as professor, program director, department chair, associate dean, vice president of academic affairs, and founding dean at numerous universities, where she has developed innovative curricula, launched new counseling programs, led accreditation initiatives, mentored faculty, and guided both master’s and doctoral students toward successful professional practice. She has taught and supervised counselors-in-training for more than three decades, fostering clinical excellence, critical thinking, and professional identity development.
An accomplished scholar and internationally recognized presenter, Dr. Logan has authored books, book chapters, peer-reviewed publications, and nationally recognized training resources. She is a past President of the American Counseling Association, an ACA Fellow, and the recipient of numerous national awards recognizing her leadership, mentorship, scholarship, and lifelong contributions to the counseling profession.
