She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hunter College in New York City in 2014. After graduation, she worked as an ABA Therapist under the supervision of a BCBA, working with individuals with Autism (ranging from the ages of 4 to 22). After four and a half years working as an ABA Therapist, she went back to school to obtain her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health, which she received from Kean University in New Jersey. Svetlana is a licensed professional counselor associate supervised by Shannon Dusza, LPC-S.
Svetlana believes that each person is a unique individual, with a unique set of concerns. She takes a person-centered approach, and tailors her therapy based on the unique needs of each client. She is of the belief that every person is the expert on their own self.
Svetlana sees children (ages 3 and up), teens, and individuals for a variety of issues, but she specializes in:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- ADHD
- Autism
- Trauma and PTSD
- Women’s Issues
- Self-Esteem Issues
Aside from the traditional talk therapy, she also uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. Her goal as a therapist is to ensure that her clients have a safe space where they feel accepted, comfortable, and in control, without any judgment. She recognizes that therapy can be a scary and daunting process, and she is here to provide a safe and welcoming space. Svetlana works to meet each client where they are, taking the time to understand their needs, and happily walk alongside them on their journey to reach those needs. She will provide authenticity, genuineness, and empathy to ensure that each client feels supported in their journey. Svetlana also speaks Russian
In her spare time, Svetlana enjoys spending time with friends, and exploring new sights, and eateries. She enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, doing puzzles, doing yoga, dancing, and finding new movies and shows to watch.
