“Let your refrigerator inspire you.” I recently said this to a client.
“Because of the wine, you mean?” she said.
Not because of the wine. Or at least not just because of the wine.
Consider that little light inside your refrigerator. It doesn’t matter how long it’s been since you last opened the door. It makes no difference how long your lunchmeat and eggs and wine have been brooding in the dark. When you open your refrigerator door, the light comes on, no questions asked.
It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been dragging yourself through the workday at a job you hate. It makes no difference how long you’ve been camped out on the couch eating convenience store pastries. All it takes is a single opening of the door to change.
Let there be light.
